New Ron Radiator Towel Rail

March 20th, 2010

Especially for KBB 2010 we’re launching a new towel rail for our gorgeous Ron radiator. You can have up to three on your Ron depending on the height of the radiator. The new towel rail is available for all Ron radiators from 600mm to 1800mm in height. We are producing a series of standard sizes but special sizes are available to order. With masses of towel hanging space and the huge heat outputs Ron always delivers, the new Ron towel rail is particularly suitable for larger bathrooms.

Eskimo at Maison et Objet 2010

January 27th, 2010

We’ve just returned from a hugely succesful Maison et Objet for Eskimo, showing Old Deer for the first time along with Eskimo radiators. In collaboration with our France, Benelux and Switzerland distributors, Worldstyle (www.worldstyle.com) we met lots of our continental customers and put Eskimo into the minds of some interior designers and architects who might have previously used more traditional radiators. A particular hit were our mirror Outline radiators in Rimex supermirror stainless. As you’ll see from the image below (left hand of the two polished Get Up radiators), these radiators can be used as genuine mirrors, and being heated, never suffer from condensation. Great for hotels and contract interiors, particularly with matching towelrails attached, the high heat outputs mean that no further heating is required even for large bathrooms, unlike the more traditional towel rail offering.

Eskimo Old Deer at Chateau Lartigolle

November 25th, 2009

We thought it was about time that we spilled the beans about our favourite location for fabulous photographs of Eskimo radiators and Old Deer.

Chateau Lartigolle in the Gers Department of France south of Auch about an hour and a half west of Toulouse is about as good a spot as you could hope to find for a location shoot. Run by the extraordinarily accomodating team of Chris, Emma and Nick, Lartigolle is as amazing a venue for photography as it is for a holiday, wedding or birthday celebration.

We spent four days at Lartigolle in February and must have rearranged most of the beautiful mix of contemprary and classic furniture in our attempts to provide the perfect room sets for Ron and Outline radiators and our newest product Old Deer, silver plated Scottish red deer antlers. Not only were the Lartigollers kind enough to just let us get on with it, they also provided the kind of catering that made work easy and the chateau difficult to leave.

Eskimo’s MD, Phil Ward, has been to Lartigolle a few times for a friend’s annual birthday celebration and has assured us that the standards never drop.

Have a look at http://www.lartigolle.com/en/ for more information or email us if you’d like to know more.

Old Deer at 100%

September 24th, 2009

We’ve had a superb day at 100% with Old Deer, our new silver antlers product. Brilliant to see Eskimo supporters who’ve been specifying our radiators for years getting the idea of the antlers too. You never know what reaction you’ll get when you launch a new product, particularly one so unrelated to anything you’ve done before. That’s the excitement of showing at 100% – there would really be nowhere to hide if it went wrong, so when it goes right it’s incredibly rewarding. Thanks enormously for all the positive comments we’ve had today from virtually everyone who’s been on the stand – I’ve genuinely been blown away by the reaction. First prize for day 1 goes to David Nicholls, Design Editor of the Telegraph, who dropped by early doors and gave us a big thumbs up on the new product – from that point on I knew we were on to a winner. If tomorrow is half as good as today, this could go down as our best 100% Design yet. Come and see us on stand A15. Phil

September 22nd, 2009

Following Eskimo’s success with Old Deer, our gorgeous silver antlers on Corian shields at the On/Off pop up shop on Newburgh St W1, the British Fashion Council have asked if they can borrow an Old Deer for an upcoming event – details to be released. We have of course agreed through our Eskimo passion for all things fashion. Old Deer now moves to 100% Design tomorrow ready for the grand official launch on Thursday.

Shhhhhh! But if you’d like a preview of Eskimo’s new product Old Deer before the official launch at 100% Design, then you can see 3 examples at the On/Off showcase at this year’s London Fashion Week 18-22 September (180 The Strand, WC2). We’re exhibiting 3 Old Deers above the entrance to the showcase before they’re rushed across town for a starring role at 100% on the 24th. The 3 Corian® finishes for the shields on display will be the monochrome versions – Pewter, Nocturne & Glacier (a gorgeous grey, black and white). And you can even buy one in the On/Off pop up shop at 8 Newburgh St off Carnaby St, W1 – follow this: www.onoff.tv

New Appointment

September 15th, 2009

We’re really pleased to announce (belatedly) the appointment of Louisa Jenkins as our Creative Director. Louisa joins us freelance after years working as accounts director for creative agencies Jam and latterly Folk. We first worked with Louisa on a 2004 project to apply a decorative surface finish to one of our Come Round radiators, when she came up with a number of stunning designs from which we selected the one below and applied it to a radiator surface by screen printing and then anodising it.

When she first started working for us in March of this year Louisa knew very little about radiators. Luckily for us she is now one of the world’s foremost aficionados on gorgeous hot things and more particularly Eskimo products. Louisa looks after our PR, brand and website management while producing some glorious graphic design work for us too.

“Lou has brought a whole new dynamic to Eskimo; having someone on board with her professional discipline and creative flair is a real coup for us – she’s reinvigorated the brand and improved our overall communication strategy immeasurably, she really understands what we’re about”, is Phil Ward’s take on Louisa.

In her own words she is a little more modest: “I’m responsible for moving Eskimo Design into a more serious arena”
